Shawano, WI - Taylor Scheffler was crowned King of the WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour Gehm's Club 117 Kings Classic at Shawano Speedway, capping off the Double Header Weekend. Scheffler was the Ken's Sports Inc Pole Sitter and led the field to the green flag along with Joel Bennett. Scheffler took the lead as Troy Springborn raced with Bennett for second, with Bennett prevailing early. Bennett and Springborn raced side by side for second, allowing Scheffler to increase his lead. On lap five, Springborn completed the pass on Bennett for second and set his sights on Scheffler, who had pulled away to a 1.495 second advantage. Behind them, Anvelink advanced to fourth followed by Justin Ritchie.
Scheffler continued to lead the race with Springborn in a pursuit. At the halfway point, the leaders were approaching the tail end of the field. The leaders worked their way through the field, Scheffler seemed to gain momentum over Springborn, until the only caution of the night came out with just five laps to go.
On the restart, Scheffler retained the lead followed by Springborn as Anvelink raced to the inside of Bennett for third and Ritchie challenged Anvelink for for the position. Scheffler went on to win his fifth WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour race of his career, followed by Springborn, Bennett, Ritchie and Anvelink.
