Mueller challenged Springborn for the lead again on lap eleven, but he wasn’t able make pass on the inside.
Caution slowed the field again on lap twelve and lap thirteen, with Springborn being challenged by Mueller on the inside as they raced through turn two and were side by side at the start finish line for the lead. Mueller started to pull away as Anvelink challenged Springborn for second position, just past the halfway point.
Mueller pulled away to a 1.871 second lead over Anvelink as he began to lap the tail end of the field. With five laps to go, Mueller had traffic in front of him, allowing Anvelink to close the gap to 1.207 seconds, and caution slowed the field with just three laps to go.
Anvelink took advantage of the restart, to make his move to the outside of Mueller, pulling ahead to the lead as they raced down the backstretch. Anvelink continued to lead the field, finishing .871 seconds ahead of Mueller. Mitch McGrath was third followed by Springborn and Mike Mullen.
