Freedom, WI - May 15, 2020 - The DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour starts the 2020 season on Friday, May 22 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin.

The Rumble by the River 40 will be the second time the Dirt Kings Tour has visited the high-banked 1/3 mile action track, with Jake Timm being crowned King of the Rumble by the River 40 in 2019. Timm held off Jimmy Mars and Brett Swedberg. The Rumble by the River 40 will pay $3000 to win and $400 to start.

While there has been some uncertainty about the future in light of the of the pandemic, the staff at Mississippi Thunder Speedway has been working closely with local officials to be sure they can start racing with fans in attendance, with tonight being the second race of the season at the track, but the first with fans in attendance. Mississippi Thunder Speedway also hosted The Race to be Essential on May 1, without fans in attenance.

In addition to the Rumble by the River 40, fans will also be treated to the $3000-to-win USMTS Modifieds, Black Horse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mods, Centerville Welding & Repair USRA Late Models Presented by Big Toy Storage, & Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stocks next Friday, May 22.

The 2020 Season is the fourth year for the DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour. Only two drivers have visited the Mueller's Sales & Service Victory Lane more than once. Nick Anvelink, three-time Dirt Kings Tour Champion leads the way with 13 victories and Mitch McGrath has six wins over the past three seasons. Twelve other drivers have also have been crowned King: Cole Spacek, Justin Hirt, Jimmy Mars, Brad Mueller, AJ Diemel, Jared Siefert, Jake Redetzke, Dennis Erb. Jr., Jake Timm, Justin Ritchie, Cade Dillard and Taylor Scheffler.

The Dirt Kings Late Model Tour brings high energy entertainment that captivates fans as drivers compete for the title of King, while battling side-by-side lap after lap. The Tour is the fastest growing dirt series in the Midwest. In 2020, the Tour will sanction 12 events at 9 venues across the state of Wisconsin and race with the World of Outlaws three times during July and August at Outagamie Speedway, Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Beaver Dam Raceway.
