King of the Fair

Nick is King!

Nick is King!

Seymour, WI - As the lights of the Outagamie County Fair illuminated the night sky and packed grandstands buzzed with anticipation, the WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour delivered another unforgettable chapter with the King of the Fair. Fans were treated to side-by-side-by-side battles and edge-of-your-seat action before Nick Anvelink emerged victorious in one of the most exciting races of the 2026 season.

Taylor Scheffler and Cole Czarneski led the field to the green flag of the King of the Fair with Czerneski looking for the lead as they exited turn two and Gunner Frank joined the battle for the lead, going three wide down the backstretch.  This exciting start to the race was haulted as the yellow flag flew for a spin in turn one.  On the restart, Scheffler knew what to do, advancing ahead of Czarneski.  Scheffler continued to lead as Czarneski made a run on the outside but wasn’t able to pull off the pass.  As Scheffler and Czarneski were at the front, Nick Anvelink was closing in with Frank close behind.

The leaders started to reach the tail end of the field just before halfway, with Czarneski navigating through traffic to the the outside of Scheffler to take the lead.  Anvelink challenged Scheffler as they worked through traffic and Scheffler passed Czarneski for the lead at halfway, but Czarneski charged back to the front.  Fans were treated to another three wide battle as Anvelink took the lead on lap 18, pulling ahead to a .121 second advantage over Czarneski. The three wide battle continued as Scheffler moved to second and Anvelink pulled ahead by .314 seconds the next lap.

A caution with nine laps to go erased Anvelink’s 1.208 second lead and allowed Scheffler another chance at the lead.  On the restart, Anvelink continued to pace the field, pulling away to a two second lead over Scheffler, Czarneski, Justin Ritchie and Terry Casey.

The final caution of the night setup a single file restart with just two laps to go.  Anvelink went on to finish .344 seconds ahead of Scheffler, followed by Czarneski, Casey and Ritchie.  Chris Oertel was sixth, followed by Brad Mueller, Lukas Postl, Troy Springborn and Frank.

Anvelink was crowned King of the Fair in BMRE Electrick Carts Co Victory Lane, his 30th WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour victory and his seventh at Outagamie Speedway.

Earlier in the night, Scheffler set fast time, with a 13.954 second lap around Outagamie Speedway and earning the Champ Pans Fast Qualifier Award.  Scheffler also won his heat race and was the Ken’s Sports Inc. Pole Award winner.
