Brett is King!
Sun Prairie, WI - Brett Swedberg was crowned King of the Park in BMRE Electrick Carts Victory Lane at Angell Park Speedway for his fifth WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour victory. Swedberg and Troy Springborn led the field to the green flag, with Swedberg diving to the inside of Springborn as they raced into turn one and two with Swedberg pulling head to the lead in turn three. Swedberg held a .988 second advantage as they crossed the stripe to complete lap one.
Swedberg continued to pace the field as Springborn battled for second place with Cory Crapser until Crasper prevailed on lap four. By this time, Swedberg had a 2.654 second lead over Crapser and the real battle for position was between past winner of the King of the Park, Brad Mueller and Turk Letizia as they raced side by side for fourth place.
At the halfway point, Swedberg still held the advantage by 3.682 seconds over Crapser and then his lead began to dwindle as Swedberg approached the tail end of the field. Swedberg was patient and didn’t fight his way through the end of the field, an approach that allowed him to be consistent, but also allowed Crapser to close the gap to 1.253 seconds with just three laps to go.
Swedberg was able to hold on to the top spot, finishing 1.473 seconds over Crapser, followed by Springborn, Mueller and Justin Ritchie.
