Seymour, WI - Mike Mullen started the Gehm's Club 117 Fall Brawl 30 on the outside of the front row, after winning the Pro Power Racing Engines Heat Race #1 and redrawing the second position for the 30-lap A-Main. Mullen led from the start battling with Kyle Raddant for the lead on lap one. Nick Anvelink and Raddant raced for second spot as Mullen pulled out to a half straightaway lead. Justin Schmidt, Justin Reed, and Justin Ritchie battled for fourth spot, until Reed spun in turn two, bringing out the second caution of the night. On the restart, Anvelink dove to the inside of Mullen but couldn’t hold on as Brett Swedberg spun in turn three bringing out the yellow. On the restart, Anvelink looked to the inside of Mullen, but Mullen continued to show the way. At the halfway point, Mullen had started to lap the tail end of the field and had pulled out to a full straightaway lead over Anvelink.
With five laps to go, caution slowed the field for the final time as Schmidt spun in turn two. Mullen, Anvelink, and Raddant led the way as Taylor Scheffler went three wide in the middle of Troy Springborn and Ritchie for fourth, with Springborn holding the spot. Mullen went on to win the Gehm’s Club 117 Fall Brawl 30, his first DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour win and was crowned King in the Mueller's Sales and ServiceVictory Lane. Anvelink finished second followed by Raddant, Springborn, and Ritchie. Scheffler was sixth followed by Ron Berna, Mark Rose, Schmidt, and Derek Janke.
The 2020 Discount Shop Towels Dirt Kings Late Model Tour will return to Wilmot Raceway for the 3rd Annual Jim Wildman Watson Classic on Saturday, October 3 to complete the season, crown a King, and crown a Champion!
