Taylor Scheffler Crowned King!

Seymour, WI - Taylor Scheffler was crowned King of the Mid Summer Showdown in Mueller’s Sales & Service Victory Lane at Outagamie Speedway, claiming his fourth DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour victory.  Scheffler started the 30-lap feature from fifth position while Nick Anvelink and Kyle Raddant led the field to the green flag.  Anvelink took early lead and he and Raddant started to pull away from the field.  Scheffler worked his way up to third as he made two consecutive slide jobs in turn three on lap four and five.  By lap eight Anvelink and Raddant had caught the end of the field with Scheffler closing in.  Scheffler passed Raddant for second and had a straightaway to make up on Anvelink  Anvelink continued to pace the field through the half-way point while working through the tail end of the field. Anvelink worked the bottom line of the track while Scheffler was on the cushion.  Joe Reuter, Troy Springborn and Aaron Bennett were ahead of the leaders as Anvelink remained low and Scheffler stayed on the cushion, with Scheffler ascending to the lead as they worked through turn one.  Scheffler pulled away to a half a straightaway lead and was able to cruise the victory.  Anvelink finished second, followed by Ron Berna, Raddant and defending DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour Champion Justin Ritchie.

Brett Swedberg won the 12-lap Kirkpatrick Law Office B-Main and earned the bonus for leading lap 7 in honor of Diamond Jim Letizia, sponsored by Kirkpatrick Law Office.  Springborn, Lukas Postl and Jared Siefert also transferred from the B-Main to the 30-lap Mid Summer Showdown. 

The DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour will be in action on Saturday, July 3 at Shawano Speedway for the Gehm’s Club 117 Kings Classic, the second race of the double header weekend.
